If your Saturday's are going to be spent on sporting field, then this is for you. It's my son's first year playing tackle football and I (well, my husband) has figured out everything we need to make our spot the sweetest on the field. Keep reading for everything you need to survive the outdoors while being your player's number 1 fan.
Youth tackle football is a popular sport in many communities across the United States. It provides an opportunity for kids to learn the fundamentals of the game and develop important skills such as teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. It also means, time out in the elements, like the hot sun! This guide has you covered with everything you need to survive the late summer season like a pro.
Bring your own shade
This versatile 10X10 is easy to pitch and versatile. We have used in on the beach. We have used in over bleachers. We have used it in parking lots. We have used it in on grass. Shade is a necessity for long hours outside. If you need it quick and convenient, head over to amazon and grab this Pop Up canopy. This comes with everything you need, including a set of weights to keep the canopy secure. It comes in a variety of covers and the reviews are great.
Get a Wagon
The only thing worse than being out in the sun, is having to carry a bunch of stuff while being out in the sun. You definitely need a wagon, and I wouldn't cut corners on this one. A good wagon will save you a lot of frustration, headaches, and arguments later. This one is pricer than other models, but it's worth every penny (according to my husband).
With a capacity of 225 lbs, this wagon comfortably fits the tent, cooler, chairs, duffel bags, snacks, the toddler, and everything else. It's also easy to pull, turn, and fold.
Take a Seat
Never depend on the venue for seating. If there is seating available, it is usually limited and in a terrible location. Bring enough seats for everyone. We already had a few seats that we can you but we also grabbed these extra wide seats. Let's be honest, these toddlers don't always like to sit in their own seat and this seat is perfect for two. The side tables and cup holders make snacking easier and it's also long enough for a comfortable toddler nap, if you are lucky!
Set the Table
If you plan on being out for hours, you are going to want to set up a table. I like to put everything in plain sight so nobody has a reason to ask me where anything is.
Snacks. Sunscreen. Water Bottles. Activities for siblings. Put it all out and sit back and enjoy the game. This table gets bonus points for having a compartment for food that keeps the bugs out. Perfect for long days spent out at the fields.
Beat the Heat with Cool Air
This cooler is a game changer. It's the world's first personal portable air conditioner and cooler. It keeps your drinks cold while using the cold water as a cooling agent. It's exhaust free, so you don't have to worry about breathing in fumes or waste products and can cool the air 35 degrees below the outside temperature. If you plan on using it without access to a power source, you will definitely want to upgrade the unit and purchase the rechageable battery that will give you 6 hours of relief from the heat.
These days, I expect princess treatment when I come to sporting events, and this makes me feel like a complete princess. Cold air in the midst of hot Florida weather is what dreams are made of!
Don’t be surprised to see any of these items show up on my upcoming gift guides. Let me know if you are ready for part 2!
